Why Billboards?

Considering advertising options can be tricky, stressful, or just straight-up confusing, especially for small businesses. There are so many options—like advertising online, on TV, or even on the radio,—and figuring out what’s best for you is a really tough decision.

The good news is: we’re here to help you achieve all of your advertising dreams (and, hopefully, much more) with the perfect billboard for your business.

As billboard nerds, we’re a little biased, but we’ve got out of home advertising down to a T and here’s why billboards are a stellar option for your marketing endeavors.

They can’t be paused, skipped, or ignored.

Let’s be honest: you skip those YouTube ads after that five second countdown. You pick up your phone during TV commercials or mid-episode Hulu ads to check social media. You flip right past the ad pages in magazines and newspapers to get to the good stuff.

But, unlike with those advertisements, billboards aren’t skippable. Generally viewed by people on the road or stuck in traffic, outdoor advertisements are big, bold, and unavoidable. And, with a solid design, your ad will be eye-catching and memorable (especially if someone drives past it daily).

They reach a wide variety of people.

While targeted online ads can be a really solid option, they can also make it difficult to reach a broad audience.

Billboards, on the other hand, are in a different boat. For example, a billboard on the side of a busy highway will be seen by everyone driving on that highway—this includes a variety of ages, genders, ethnicities, and even occupations. For businesses that sell everyday goods or services with a wide (like restaurants, department stores, and grocery or convenience stores), billboards are an incredible way to reach a local audience.

They bring more bang for your buck.

According to the OAAA in 2017, billboard advertising results in a 497% ROI (return on investment). That means for each $1 spent, an average of $5.97 is sold—higher than digital, print, and radio.

Additionally, the average CPM (cost per thousand impressions) is lower than most other formats, averaging between $2 and $7 (source).

TL;DR:

Billboards aren’t just for large corporations, and if you’re looking for a cost-effective, statement-making advertising option, hit us up or create a campaign at BillboardsIn.com to get started.
