How to Make the Most of Your Billboard

To get the most out of your billboard, consider utilizing some of these great tactics.

Our blog has explored the incredible nuance that makes up the great art of billboard creation. Technically, anybody can put together a billboard; the true challenge is finding ways to get the best ROI. Getting your billboard posted of course costs money, but the investment is well worth it in the long run if the billboard is optimized.

Using a QR code is a great call-to-action for passersby in walkable areas where they can stop to scan it. Seeing a scannable code is the perfect prompt for people to pull out their phones and engage with your content immediately. There’s the chance that someone can forget about your billboard once they leave the area, but utilizing a QR code is a good tactic against that (but make sure you’re aware of local regulations regarding QR codes!).

Another great way to engage your audience is to provide a social media handle on the billboard. All you need to effectively communicate this element is to have the logo of the social platform(s) of your choice along with your handle. It helps to have a handle that is relatively short and easy to remember. If a passerby sees a long social media handle with a bunch of numbers and variations, then they won’t bother checking out the social page.

Promo codes are a great method for adding immense value to your billboard. In the same vein as QR codes, promo codes are a call-to-action for the audience. There’s more of an incentive for people to check out a product or service if they are able to take advantage of a discount. Additionally, you can internally track how your business is affected by how many people have used the promo code you advertised.
