Romantic Billboards

The season of love is upon us, and as Valentine’s Day approaches, pink, red, and heart-shaped branding will be at a maximum.

Using the holiday to your advantage is a great way to draw local hopeless romantics to your business and win new customers. BillboardsIn has chosen five effective, romantic outdoor ads we’re simply in love with to help step up your Valentine’s Day advertising game.

1

Target

This simple ad from Target shows how less is sometimes more. It plays into the season with colors and heart motifs while keeping the words clear. Rather than advertising romance directly, it suggests gifts for anyone the consumer loves.

As such a recognizable brand, Target can skip its name entirely and keep it simple with just its logo.
2

Netflix

As one of the most prevalent streaming platforms in the world, Netflix can get extremely creative with OOH. This Valentine’s ad features Netflix’s iconic logo and references its original series You, in which the obsessive Joe Goldberg inserts himself into the lives of various young women.

By joking about one of its popular series, Netflix engages people who know its content and intrigues those who don’t.

3

ProFlowers & Shari’s Berries

This campaign is unique because it’s a collaboration between two businesses. ProFlowers and Shari’s Berries recognized the powerful Valentine’s pairing of flowers and chocolate-covered strawberries and marketed them together to romantic passersby.

The split billboard gives a glimpse of the products, while the simple collection title and logos on a white background keep it clear and easy to read.

4

Nadia Cakes

Classic Valentine’s motifs are a great way to advertise a bakery. Nadia Cakes uses reds, pinks, and purples to catch attention, paired with romantic desserts—candy hearts, chocolate-covered strawberries, and rose-topped cupcakes—making this OOH ad too sweet to pass up!

5

Marriage Proposals

OOH is a great way to proclaim something on a large scale, and one of the most romantic uses is a proposal or profession of love. Simple, lovely messaging that focuses on the big question is what makes an ad like this so effective. The roses and photo add a beautiful personal touch.

Congratulations to Andressa and Felipe!
