Billboards for YouTubers

We’ve written about billboards for influencers before, but what about YouTubers specifically? 

Many YouTubers are new to the world of advertising—outside of social media, how do you increase your presence? Advertising can be daunting, especially if you’re new to it, but out-of-home is a great way to get your name out there. Billboards offer plenty of room for creativity, and showing off your goods. 

One of the most important aspects to focus on when undergoing an outdoor advertising campaign is the design. Billboards should be bold, captivating, and readable, all while effectively portraying the message at hand. 

YouTubers have an advantage here, and that’s that they usually have a very clear image already. By displaying a photo of themselves, using a channel logo, and sticking up a catchphrase, they’re sure to make a lasting impression. 

Billboards reach local audiences. 

Many people love when big names represent their town. There’s a sense of pride when someone gets famous (even internet famous) from the city they live in, so making the community aware of the personality living in or from their town is a great way to increase an audience. 

Billboards are a cost-effective advertising option. 

According to the OAAA in 2017, billboard advertising results in a 497% ROI (return on investment). That means for each $1 spent, an average of $5.97 is sold—higher than digital, print, and radio. 

Additionally, the average CPM (cost per thousand impressions) is lower than most other formats, averaging between $2 and $7 (source).
