Client Spotlight: Trim Tech

Today on our Client Spotlight, we’re going to be taking a look at Trim Tech, a company that provides efficient cannabis production services in California, Oklahoma, Washington, Massachusetts, Oregon, and—most recently—Michigan.

In the cannabis industry, hand trimming has been the go-to method for preparing the plants for consumers. It’s an incredibly time-consuming process and just simply isn’t efficient enough for large-scale cannabis farms.

There are trimming machines that exist, but with every use, there runs the risk that the flower will get damaged or not enough of the leaves will be removed. Trim Tech provides the answer to this problem by using a technique called air trimming.

“We’ve worked with a lot of growers in many different states, and when you ask them what the bottleneck is in the entire seed to sale process they all answer with the same word: trimming,” Zach Greenwood, Trim Tech owner, said.

Back in 2015, the group came across a batch of cannabis that had become contaminated with a powdery mildew. Instead of wasting the resources and time spent on regrowing the batch, they decided to salvage the flowers by blowing compressed air to remove the mildew.

“Not only did this remove the powdery mildew, but it trimmed up the dry flower!” Greenwood said. “It took many iterations to find the proper setup to harness the utility and three years to be granted the full utility patent on clean air trimming, and now we have a thriving business that helps a lot of folks out because of it.”

The end of that quote highlights a major goal of the business, which is to provide impeccable, affordable service for growers in the cannabis industry. Their care and mindfulness extends even further, though.

“Although we market ourselves to cannabis growing and processing businesses, our services also benefit consumers,” he said.”You can take solace knowing you’re enjoying a cleaner product, as our air trimming process uses oil-free compressed air, has zero contaminants, and preserves the flower while getting it into the safety of a jar or a package more quickly.”

Greenwood encourages consumers to ask for air-trimmed flowers at their local dispensary.

Trim Tech plans to expand into more states where marijuana is legal; specifically, they’re beginning operations in Michigan. Those interested in their services are able to call for a free demonstration at (866) 45-Ganja. Their page here gives a breakdown of their various prices and services.
