Based virtually in Atlanta, GA, Thrive Consulting Group specializes in a breadth of services meant to help clients build and cultivate success.
Specializing in areas including small business management, credit counseling, grant writing, business credit, and mentorship, Thrive Consulting Group’s goal is to “lead, train and motivate clients to build and cultivate business and personal relationships for success,” while educating clients so that they are knowledgeable in having business portfolios, and have access to capital, investors, and grants.
They have expertise in multiple areas, helping to create unparalleled programs, success, and financial growth in local minority communities.
“During [COVID-19], I was on a temporary leave from my job due to constant sickness and it was the worst feeling ever, financially,” Takera McClendon, CEO, said. “Furthermore, I drafted a plan to use my current expertise and began taking courses remotely on business management and financial accounting. The amount of knowledge I gained from reading, testing and researching introduced me to skills to form a new career.”
McClendon began the consulting firm by offering services and expertise assisting managing small businesses’ large portfolios and personal financial services.
Like many businesses, the first year wasn’t as smooth as McClendon would’ve liked it to be, and being the only one handling many tasks and starting her business during a pandemic didn’t help.
“There were plenty of sleepless nights, my health declined from being in constant overdrive and [COVID-19],” she said. “It was overwhelming, but I managed!”
In the first year, she helped over 250 clients with credit counseling, organized more than 50 small businesses, and over 35 of her clients are now homeowners.
“I like to say I survived the worst part,” she said. “A little bump and bruises here and there … but we survived!”
